I am Legend vs. 28 Days Later…

I managed to catch I am Legend last night, and whilst i enjoyed the film, I could not help shake the feeling that it was a blatant copy of Danny Boyle’s brit-movie masterclas.

Although I am Legend is based upon a book (Last man alive??) the similarities between the two are endless,
Virus sweeps nation, turns people into “The Infected”/”Darkseekers”, one person left in the city etc etc… IMO 28Days later is the better of the two if not for the fact that “The infected” are alot nastier/scarier than the “Darkseekers”.

But I will let you decide for yourselves (and yes I know the clip im using is from 28 Weeks later)…

*Please note I neither condone or promote the uploading of copywrited material to video upload sites and neither of these clips have anything to do with me…

In sports news both of my teams managed to lose this weekend with the Dallas Cowboys failing in the playoffs against the Giants, and Oxford United crashing to a 3-1 loss away at part-time Salisbury City… Happy Days

  1. The film “I am Legend” was based on the Richard Matheson short novel of the same name (published 1954), which has been filmed three other times under the titles The Omega Man and The Last Man on Earth and once under the original title.

So even if 28 days later was a better zombie film… the book “I am Legend” would own it .. cos it’s different from the recent film and had a better ending.

    FACT

  2. Can’t deny that one – 28 weeks later is the copycat movie as far as I’m concerned, although a damn good one at that!

However – not seen I Am Legend so who am i to comment… Ah, I’ve just commented… *shit*
